The stadium, which is also sometimes used for concerts, was one of the 1978 FIFA World Cup venues. Tenants Jaguares played their first-ever Super Rugby home match at the venue, with 19,000 people in attendance. They signed Agustín Creevy, the first Argentine rugby union player with 100,000 followers on his main social media page, in 2016. Vélez Sarsfield, the other tenants, won the South American championship for football clubs in 1994 for the first time in their history. They became one of the first football clubs from Buenos Aires with 100,000 followers on their main social media page.
