The venue, which hosted field hockey matches for the Games of the Olympiad in 1984, is owned by the East Los Angeles College. It hosted home games of football club Los Angeles Salsa. The dissolved football club Los Angeles Aztecs also played home games at the stadium. The world famous Dutch football legend Johan Cruijff played for the Aztecs in 1979. The Los Angeles Aztecs drew an average home attendance of 14,000 in that North American Soccer League season.
