The venue hosted matches of the national football teams of Croatia, Ireland and Italy for UEFA Euro 2012. The European championship for national football teams was won by Spain after beating Italy 4-0. 63,000 people attended the final, which took place in Ukraine. The national football team of Spain were crowned European champions for the third time in their history in Ukraine. The INEA Stadion is also known as Stadion Miejski w Poznaniu and it hosts the home games of Lech Poznan. They are among the major Polish sports clubs. Lech Poznan were founded in 1922 under a different name. In 1983, they were crowned Polish football champions for the first time in their history.
