The construction of the venue started in 2013. Sivasspor, one of the first Turkish sports clubs with 100,000 followers on its main social media page, use the stadium for home games. In 2017, the stadium named Yeni Sivas 4 Eylül Stadyumu hosted its first-ever Turkish top-flight football league match of Sivasspor. Football club Sivasspor drew an average home attendance of 10,000 in their first-ever top-flight league season at the venue. In 2022, they won the Turkish cup tournament for the first time in their history after defeating Kayserispor.
