Extra stadium info – MRSOOL Park

The venue hosted the first edition of the Maradona Cup in 2021. The Maradona Cup is named after Diego Armando Maradona, an Argentine football legend. The Argentine football side Boca Juniors won the Maradona Cup after beating the Spanish side FC Barcelona after a penalty shoot-out. The Boca Juniors and FC Barcelona, both former clubs of Maradona, won several world championship titles. FC Barcelona became the second sports club with 100 million followers on its main social media page.

Al-Nassr

Al-Nassr Football Club, one of the first Asian sports clubs with 10 million followers on its main social media page, use the stadium named MRSOOL PARK for home games. The club was founded in 1955. They won the Saudi top-flight football league various times. Al-Nassr FC were crowned Saudi football champions in 1975 for the first time in their history. They won the title after beating Al-Hilal 3-1.

The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo

The football legend Cristiano Ronaldo signed with Al-Nassr various days after his last 2022 FIFA World Cup match for the national football team of the Portuguese Republic. He became the highest-paid athlete in the world after he signed with Al-Nassr. Ronaldo left the English side Manchester United Football Club by mutual agreement several weeks before he signed with Al-Nassr.

The football career of Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo played professional football for the Portuguese side Sporting Clube de Portugal, the Spanish side Real Madrid CF and the Italian side Juventus FC before he returned to Manchester United FC. Cristiano Ronaldo, the second person in the world with 100 million followers on his or her main social media page, won several top-flight league titles with Real Madrid. He also won UEFA Champions League titles and world championship titles with the Spanish football giants.
