Extra stadium info – Stade de Kégué

The stadium is used by the national football team of Togo. They made their debut in the prestigious FIFA World Cup, the world championship for national football teams, in 2006. On 8 January 2010, the team bus of the national football team of Togo was attacked by gunmen as it travelled to the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Following the bus attack, the football federation of Togo stated that they would withdraw from the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations. Despite the claim that players of the national football team of Togo wanted to reverse the decision, announced by the former Togolese football player Thomas Folivi Dossevi, the government of Togo later ordered that the team should not compete.
