Extra stadium info – Kasarani Stadium
The stadium, which is also sometimes used for athletics and rugby union, is part of the Moi International Sports Centre. It became the largest sports venue by capacity in Kenya. The national football team of Kenya, nicknamed Harambee Stars, played numerous home matches at the Kasarani Stadium. In 1972, they played in the African championship for national football teams for the first time in their history. Kenya finished third place in the group stage of the tournament.
